Senior / System Engineer

Primary Accountabilities:

1.) As a Team Member:-

  • Ensure the adherence to Data Centre and LAN Room policy
  • Ensure the data centre meets all the server and network equipment minimum operating environment
  • Process requests that fall under the Scope of Service
  • Maintain systems in optimum performance
  • Monitor and maintain service availability
  • Support for the services that fall under the Scope of Service

2.) As a Team Leader:-

  • Accountable for all system operations
  • Review the Data Centre access logs and flag non-compliance to policy
  • Work with OES for access changes and data centre environment changes/issues
  • Ensure procedures are documented
  • Ensure SOP are up-to-date
  • Ensure compliance to policies and procedures
  • Follow up on requests, deployments & incidents/issues (including escalation) and ensure proper and timely closure
  • Recommend the optimum or alternative solutions
  • Ensure that relevant parties (including the requestor/users) are updated on the progress

Requirements:

  • Good customer service and communication skills;
  • Good understanding of the Data Centre & LAN Room policy;
  • Good understanding Server & Network equipment environmental requirements (i.e. power, temperature, humidity, etc);
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies;
  • Ability to work as a team and with others (i.e. Developer, End User, Project Manager, Architect, DBA, Application/Network Team and external clients);
  • Preferred to have VMWare certification;
  • Willing to work outside working hours;
  • Good understanding and preferably with hands-on experience on the following:
    • Microsoft Exchange & General concept of email
    • Microsoft Active Directory & Domain Controllers
    • Microsoft RMS
    • Microsoft SCCM 2007
    • Microsoft OCS 2007
    • Microsoft Server 2003/2008
    • Microsoft Certificate Authority Server
    • Network Scanners
    • SMS Gateway concept
    • Antivirus Management Server concept
    • Concept on Network Storage System
    • Concept on Backup System
    • Concept on System Monitoring server
    • DNS / DHCP
    • VMWare vSphere
    • VMWare View
    • Server Hardware (IBM Blade, IBM Rack servers, HP Rack Servers)
    • IBM Director & Tivoli
    • HP Systems Management & Remote Deployment Pack

Requirements for Team Leader:

  • Minimum 3 years Systems Administration and support experience;
  • Preferred to have expert-level of Microsoft Certification (MCSA/MCSE or equivalent);
  • Hardworking, dynamic person who takes initiative and able to multi-task and handle diverse portfolios;
  • Lead a team of engineers;

Requirements for Team Member:

  • Minimum a Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent;
  • Minimum 2 years Systems Administration and support experience;
  • Preferred to have at least a professional-level of Microsoft certification (MCP or equivalent).
